Distance & Online Library Basics: Your Personal Librarian

The NorQuest Personal Librarian for Distance Learners

Your personal librarian is here to help you develop your information literacy skills – the skills you need to find and evaluate information. This includes helping you learn to do things like:

  • use a database to find books or articles
  • identify reputable resources to use for your assignments
  • evaluate information you find online
  • avoid plagiarism and use a citation format like MLA or APA

If you are enrolled as a distance student at NorQuest College, you will receive regular emails from your personal librarian which highlight these important skills and provide useful techniques and tips to help you get the most out of the library.

Contact your personal librarian with any questions you might have! Phone, text, or email – it’s up to you.  See below for all the ways you can get in touch with your personal librarian.
