Library Services for Faculty: Research & Curriculum Support

A high level guide that defines library services to NorQuest faculty.

Research Support

Librarians are well qualified to assist curriculum developers and subject matter experts by identifying reliable, evaluated and, if desired, scholarly resources that can be integrated with curriculum. We also assist faculty members who are engaged in research by providing one-on-one information consultations. Librarians can also recommend external resources.

We will provide customized one-on-one library research instruction to instructors who are engaged in scholarly activity or committee work and require access to scholarly literature.

We cannot perform literature searches/information gathering on behalf of faculty and staff.

Book a Consultation

A liaison librarian will meet to assist you with any of the following:

  • Integrating information literacy (research, citation, etc.) activities, assignments, and learning outcomes into your course.
  • Providing group or one-on-one in-service instruction on conducting research and navigating our databases.
  • Choosing resources from our library collections that support program curricula and class assignments. Conversely, we will work with instructors and subject specialists to ensure our collections are meeting the needs of our academic programs.
  • Assisting with an online course. We can recommend excellent resources and tools, and help you embed them into Moodle. Ask us about the services and supports we provide to distance, regional and online students. We are continually adding these in response to their specialized needs.

Tools for Research, Teaching & Learning

NorQuest Library subscribes to a range of databases which you can find by title or by subject on our website

For a full journal list of full-text online magazines and ebooks, use our Find It! service. This can also be used to locate a specific article if you know the journal it was published in.

Note: If you are off campus, you will be required to log in using your network ID and password.
