This site presents the results of a study of the epidemiology of dementia in Canada, in which it has followed over 10,000 elderly Canadians over a ten-year period from 1991 to 2001.

A guide written by a committee of experts dealing with end-of-life care, including chapters on optimal care, living and dying well in later life, maintaining comfort, ethical issues, delivery of end-of-life care, care for the caregivers, spirituality, the cultural context for palliative and end-o f-life care for seniors, aboriginal issues, continuing challenges.

A program which focuses on providing access to palliative care support in the home and in all region health care institutions, while shifting the main area of end-of-life care from acute care, to home and hospice.
