Services for regional, online, and evening students

Regional, online, and evening students can book a 30-minute appointment online.

During your appointment, a tutor-coach will work with you using a program called Zoom, where you can chat, speak to each other, and even share screens. We can help you with:

  • Understanding course content
  • Practice questions
  • Calculations and formulas
  • Using a graphing calculator
  • Med calculations
  • Grammar
  • Reading comprehension
  • Presentations
  • Staying organized and taking notes
  • Study skills and memorization strategies
  • Computer skills
  • And more!

The Writing Centre is a place where students can build their skills and become more confident, independent writers.

You can make a 30-minute appointment to meet with a writing tutor or librarian during our open hours (Monday to Saturday).

We can help you with:

  • Writing skills
  • Citation and references
  • Grammar
  • And more!

A tutor or librarian will meet you at our downtown campus or online. You will get immediate feedback on your writing draft, including elements like organization, thesis statements, introductions and conclusions, grammar, and citation.

If you can, you are always welcome to come to Tutorial and Academic Coaching Services at the downtown Edmonton campus (Learner Centre, 2nd floor of the Singhmar Centre for Learning). No appointment needed!

Sign up using the kiosk (here's how)Sessions are 15-20 minutes long. If you need more help after seeing a tutor-coach, you can sign in again.

Help is available to individuals and small groups on a drop-in basis. If you and your friends have the same question, you can sign up together, and a tutor-coach will work with your group.

In order to help Tutorial & Academic Coaching run smoothly and allow as many students as possible to get appointments when they need them, please follow these guidelines:

1. Only book appointments you know you will use.

2. Don't book back-to-back appointments.

3. Cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you can't come.

4. Be on time.

In order to reduce the number of no-shows and last minute appointment cancellations and to ensure equal access to service for all students, Tutorial & Academic Coaching Services reserves the right to:

  • Monitor and limit student use of same-day appointment bookings;
  • Restrict or remove student access to service for the remainder of the semester if a pattern of cancellations, “no shows,” and/or excessive bookings emerges;
  • Restrict or remove access to service for the remainder of the semester if a student fails to adhere to the College’s Student Code of Conduct by engaging in disrespectful behavior towards tutors or other students during appointments.
