Linking to Library Resources

How to link to library resources such as databases, ebooks, articles or online video

Linking to Library Resources in Moodle

For your students to access resources from off campus, they need to authenticate (log in to the Portal). When providing a link to to a licensed library resource, you need to add our off-campus authentication link prefix to the resource persistent url:

https://auth01.norquest.ca/login?url=

For example:
https://auth01.norquest.ca/login?url=https://www.nfb.ca/channels/critically-acclaimed-films/

OneSearch

Link Generator

Code adapted from Eastern Michigan State Unviersity's Stable Linking Guide by Sarah Memmott:  http://guides.emich.edu/linking

  • The link must be a stable, persistent link.
  • You do not need to add the proxy to freely available sites (such as Google) or links that already begin with https://auth01.norquest.ca/login?url=

1. Copy and paste your source URL here:

2. Click the "Create link" button:

3. Copy and use the resulting link:
