Library Online

The Last day for Summer Curbside Pick Up Service will be August 14. Fall Curbside Pick Up Service will begin August 24. If you need to pick up library items between August 17 and 21, please email the library at library@norquest.ca to learn about your options.

What is Library Curb-side Pick Up?

  • Curb-side Pick Up is a service that allows NorQuest students and staff to place holds online and pick them up from campus. Curb-side Pick Up is offered by appointment only. When your holds are ready, you will be prompted to email the library to set up an appointment. A library staff member will help you book a time to come to campus to get your books. You will know you have correctly completed the process when you receive a confirmation email.

Your holds will be set aside for 10 days. You will need to make an appointment within those 10 days. Your holds will be available for pick up the day after they are placed and you may book an appointment as early as 24 hours before the appointment time.

Walk-in pick ups and weekend appointments are not available.

Who Can Use This Service?

  • NorQuest students and staff
    • If you live outside the Greater Edmonton Area, contact the library at library@norquest.ca to learn how you can receive your books.

What Safety Precautions are in Place?

  • Face masks must be worn by staff, students, and other campus visitors.
  • Returned items are quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours.
  • Staff perform proper hand hygiene and wear gloves when appropriate.

How Many Items Can Be Requested?

  • We encourage staff and students to request no more than 15 items at a time.

How Do I Place a Hold?

  • Search for the item you would like using OneSearch
  • When you see the item you would like, click "Place Hold"
  • Enter your 13-digit barcode number and PIN
    • Need help getting your barcode? Email us at library@norquest.ca

Preparing for a Pick Up Appointment

  • Bring a face mask to wear on campus. All students, staff, and visitors must wear a face mask on campus.
  • Be sure you feel well before using this service. If you feel ill or you have been exposed to somebody who is ill, please do not come to campus.
  • If you plan to have somebody else pick up your holds, please inform the library at least 24 hours in advance. We will need to know their name exactly how it appears on their picture ID and their phone number. They will also be required to bring picture ID and be ready to tell us your student or staff ID number.
  • If you must cancel, it is advised that you do so before the morning of your appointment. If you do not show up for your appointment or if you cancel the same day, your will have a two day grace period to reschedule before the items are put back on the shelf.

Coming to Your Pick Up Appointment

  • Arrive on time for your appointment. You may come any time within the 30 minute window you have booked. To help us maintain social distance and to ensure you receive your holds, please come to your appointment as close to your chosen time as possible.
  • Call the library at (780) 644-6070, text (587) 600-0084, or connect with us via chat to inform library staff that you have arrived. Your items will be brought down to you.
  • Have your picture ID ready and be ready to tell us your student or staff ID number.
  • Your items will be checked out prior to your arrival, so you do not need to have your student ID card. However, if you do have a student or staff ID card, this may be used as picture ID.
  • Please help keep NorQuest staff and students safe by standing at least 2 meters (6 feet) from others while inside Imagine Hall and returning items to the book drop. Please do not hand returns to staff or leave them on the pick up table.

Items Excluded from Curb-side Pick Up
