How to Format References in IEEE Style

How to format the Reference entries

• Centre and bold the heading
• Single-space the entries and double space between entries
• If there are more than 6 authors listed, then include the first author followed by et al.
• On the references page, write reference numbers in square brackets on the left hand side:

In MS Word	In Google Docs
Select number formats	Select Numbered list
Select Define new number format	Highlight and right-click number
Create a format with square brackets surrounding the number	Edit prefix and suffix to add square brackets
