All NorQuest courses must adhere to the following:

Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy

The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) aims to balance right of access to public information with protection of privacy of personal information.

As an instructor with access to and creator of personal information of students, you should complete the FOIP Course and review it periodically.

Other Legislation

As noted in Equity & Diversity, the following are key pieces of legislation to consider while creating and delivering course curriculum: 

  • The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982),
  • The Canadian Multiculturalism Act (1988),
  • The Canadian Human Rights Act (1977),
  • The Canadian Bill of Rights (1960).

Individuals also cannot contravene the Criminal Code.
