Fall hours update:

The college is closed on Tuesday, November 11th for Remembrance day.

The Learner Centre will be closed on Friday, November 14th from 8-11:15 am. We will be open 11:15 am.

Sign up to work with a learning support specialist!

Sign up for drop-in help now through our queuing system and please select the online, or in-person queue for your location.

 

 

Reminder to Engineering students that you can get support for CHEM 1003, ENGG 1000 and MATH 1011 during regular Math and Sciences hours, and ENGL 1099 during regular English and Writing hours.

Not sure how to use Waitwell? Here are the steps you need to follow to connect from your own device. If you are in the Library, you can come to the desk and we can help you use the Kiosk if you prefer.

Step 1: Use this link or QR code below to open our service page.

Step 2: Please select the most appropriate line for the help you are desiring. You will likely want to decide between Math and Science in-person or online, or Engineering for evening or weekend support.

Step 3: Enter your personal information. Your phone number allows us to send SMS updates and video call (MS Teams for online sessions) 

Step 4: if you could provide a little more information about the assignment or homework you are needing help with to assist the tutor in preparing.

Step 5: Waiting: You will receive an estimated wait time for a tutor to become available. Please make sure your work and questions are ready, and you are prepared for when your number is called!

Step 6: When the tutor calls your ticket, the browser will update and a MS Teams link will be generated. The link will appear in the browser, as well as be sent by SMS message and email.

Who are we and what do we do?

We are a team of professional learning support specialists who will work with you to build academic skills, confidence and independence. Examples include skills to improve your writing, effectively balance all your assignments, apply study strategies that maximize your time and energy, and much more.

Our services are FREE for NorQuest students taking courses in any program!

Help with homework

Explain concepts you learned in class

Break down assignment instructions

Help with exam preparation

Teach academic skills such as study strategies, time management, memorization, managing anxiety and more

Proofread your work, this violates the college's academic integrity rules. But we can show you how to proofread your own work!

Provide support during exams. This violates the college's academic integrity rules.

Confirm answers or provide grades for papers or assignments. We encourage you to discuss your concerns with your instructor.

Teach research and citation. Visit the librarians in the Learner Centre or on their live chat for help.

Help with resumes. Please see the Career Centre on the 6th floor of the CELT building.

Help with funding applications. Please see an Advisor on the 1st floor of the CELT building.
