Makerspace

The NorQuest Makerspace is a place to learn through exploration, innovation, and creation.

Virtual Reality (VR)

VR allows you to be immersed in a 360° virtual environment where you can interact with objects, the world, and other users. Our headsets aren't connected to a computer, so you can move freely!

How can I use a VR headset?

There are 10 headsets available in the Makerspace when it is open. The headsets are first-come, first-serve. Headsets may be booked by instructors, so there may be times when they are not available in the Makerspace.

If more than 1 student wants to use the headsets at the same time, then they must all be sitting down. If there are students waiting, then use of the headsets will be limited to 30 minutes.

Caution: Some people may experience motion sickness while using VR headsets. If you begin experiencing any negative effects while using the headset, remove the headset and inform a staff member.

Note: If you wear contact lenses or glasses, these should be worn while using VR, otherwise the content may be blurry; however, some glasses may be uncomfortable when worn in the headset.
