The general format for a film:

Last Name, First Name, contribution. Title of Source. Version. Contribution by First Name Last Name and First Name Last Name, Publisher, Publication Date.

Example:

Abrahamson, Lenny, director. Room. Performance by Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay, Element Pictures, 2015.

 

The general format for a film from a database:

Last Name, First Name, contribution. Title of Source. Publisher, Publication Date. Title of Container, Location. (URL without http://)

Example:

Kechiche, Abdellatif, director. Blue is the Warmest Color. Quat'sous Films / Wild Bunch, 2013. Netflix, www.netflix.com/watch/70275600.

The general format for a television series:

Title of Source. Contribution by First Name Last Name and First Name Last Name, Publisher, Publication Date.

Example:

Pretty Little Liars. Created by I. Marlene King, ABC Family, 2010-2017.

The general format for an episode of a television series:

"Title of Source." Title of Container, Number, Publisher, Publication Date. Title of Container, Location. (URL without http://)

Example:

"Into the Deep." Pretty Little Liars, season 4, episode 9, ABC Family, 6 Aug. 2013. Netflix, www.netflix.com/watch/70283506.

The general format for a YouTube video:

Author Name. "Title of Source." Title of Container, Publication Date, Location. (URL without http://)

 

Example:

bcwalden43. "Literary Devices in Pop Culture." YouTube, 11 Jul. 2012, youtu.be/U_pxfifB6Co.

or

The general format for an online video from a website:

Title of Container, Publication Date, Location. (URL without http://)

Example:

The general format for a song:

Last Name, First Name. "Title of Source." Title of Container, Contribution by First Name Last Name and First Name Last Name, Publisher, Publication Date. Title of Container, Location. (URL without http://)

Example:

Shad and DJ T.lo. "Fire." Boarding Pass, 1 Dec. 2014. Bandcamp, shadk.bandcamp.com/.

The general format for a physical work of art:

Last Name, First Name. Title of Source. Publication Date, Location. (Institution, City. Unless the city is in the name of the institution.)

Example:

Indiana, Robert. LOVE. 1970, Indianapolis Museum of Art.

The general format for an illustrated book:

Author Last Name, First Name. "Title of Source." Title of Container, illustrated by First Name Last Name, vol. x, Publisher, Year, pp. xx-xx.

Example:

The general format for a lecture:

Author Name. "Title of Source." Title of Container, Other contributor, Publication Date, Location. (URL without http://)
