To make the transition to the new LSP as smooth as possible we’ve compiled a summary of the major changes that may impact your work and require your immediate attention.
Many links to library resources will break in the months following the LSP launch on Wednesday, April 9th. We don’t have an exact date when this will occur, but we can confirm that links will remain functional until at least April 28th. For any library resources you need access to after this date, you should update their permalinks.
On or after April 9th, search for these resources in the new library search, then follow the instructions on the Access and Save Results page to get the permalink. Update in all your course materials.
To make this process more streamlined, course shells should be updated prior to being copied.
You will lose access to your EBSCO account at some point following the launch of the new LSP. This is separate from your library account.
Though we don’t have an exact timeline for when this will happen, we advise dealing with your saved items by April 28th.
Visit the Export Saved Results page in our LSP transition guide for detailed instructions on how you can print, email, or export your saved results.
All borrowing between institutions has been paused as libraries across Alberta migrate to their new LSPs. Throughout this process NorQuesters will continue borrowing materials from the NorQuest Library as usual.
After the LSP migration is complete, borrowing will resume but with these changes:
You will have temporary access to the EBSCO Discovery Search (former LSP) as we transition to the new library search.
This should only be used to log in to your EBSCO account and move saved items. Old permalinks from the former LSP should be updated with permalinks generated in the new library search.
