In 2007, April 2nd was marked World Autism Awareness Day (also known as World Autism Acceptance Day) by the UN as a way to work towards the full realization of human rights, freedoms, and opportunities for Autistic individuals around the world. Today, more than 17 years later, the movement has expanded into the promotion of acceptance, appreciation, and inclusion.
